Annaul Madrasa Prize-giving 2019

Once again, our annaul Madrasa prizegiving took place on Saturday 20th July 2019. It was a wonderful event with many awards being presented to the students. The mosque was full of proud family members and staff, excited pupils and special guests.

The programme commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by the recitation of Hamd by the students of Madrasa.

Maulana Hafiz Ashfaq Patel, speaking on the occasion said, "We have been blessed with the wealth of Islam and it's our responsibility to follow the orders of Islam. We have been instructed to follow the footsteps of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)."

The chairman' Mr Jamil, addressed the gathering and congratulated the teachers & students. In his brief speech, he spoke on the importance of the Madrasa. "We should be thankful to almighty Allah for his plenty of blessings upon us and need to lead a life according to his orders", he added.
The programme ended with Dua followed by prize distrubtion.

The solidarity visit to the mosque by Faith representative and civic dignitaries was truly inspirational and a reflection of the huge amounts of humanity and religious love and empathy that exists between the communities of Blackpool.  It is a gesture that will live long in mosque's memory.

Emotional farewell to long-serving treasurer

20th July 2019, we say farewell to a long serving member of Blackpool Mosque. Dr Ishaque served Blackpool Mosque for almost 30 years, including 15 years as treasurer. On the behalf of the community, chairman of the Mosque Mr Jamil thanked him for his dedication and devotion. “Nobody can do your job quite like you. How will we ever make things work around here without you? Our whole team will miss you. You have been a much appreciated and highly regarded asset to this Blackpool muslim community.

About The Madrassah

The evening  Maktab classes follow a varied and enriched curriculum enabling the children to- not only recite the Quran in a beautiful manner with tajweed, but to embrace an Islamic lifestyle and develop the confidence in their Muslim identity. We place great emphasis on accurate recitation and fluency and the progress of each individual child is monitored and assessed at every stage of their learning. Additional Islamic studies are a strong focus ensuring that Madrasah is enjoyable and educational.

We recognise that learning consists of:
• Acquiring knowledge of Deen
• Understanding ideas and reasonings
• Perfecting skills and confidence
• Developing good attitudes and manners

A community without education is a lost Community
